Buenos Aires is an exceptionally flat and bike-friendly city, featuring over 300 kilometers of dedicated cycle paths (ciclovías and bicisendas) that make urban touring smooth and accessible. The main touring bicycle routes in and around the city include:
1. Costanera Norte & Río de la Plata Riverside Route
This scenic, relaxed route hugs the edge of the Río de la Plata, stretching from the northern end of Palermo past Aeroparque Jorge Newbery and further up toward Vicente López. It offers wide paths, constant river breezes, and plenty of open space.
2. Bosques de Palermo & Avenida del Libertador

A quintessential Buenos Aires cycling experience. Wide, modern protected bike lanes run alongside Avenida del Libertador and Avenida Figueroa Alcorta, cutting through the city's largest green spaces. This route passes by El Rosedal (the Rose Garden), the lakes, the Planetarium, and various monuments.

3. Puerto Madero & Reserva Ecológica Costanera Sur

For a mix of sleek modern architecture and natural wilderness, this southern route takes you across the calm, low-traffic streets surrounding Puerto Madero's historic brick docks and leads directly into the wide gravel trails of the Costanera Sur Ecological Reserve, which sits right on the riverbank.
